K.A. Corlett hails from Canada's Deep South.  Ah, the Flatlands, where Point Pelee's appendage cleaves the waters of Lake Erie like...uh...let's just say it's one hell of a swizzle stick.  Presently she holds down the castle in London, Ontario with her longsuffering husband and two horribly spoiled felines.  It's a swell party.  But don't walk in with your doublet unbuckled—you might be asked to stir a drink.

K.A.'s career of bizarre imaginings began at a tender age, thanks to her older sisters, who were real sports.  They thought it was great fun covering her head with tea towels. Hence she had lots of time to think in the dark. Often she found it hard to decide whether she was the Fly or the Unknown Comic.

Other early influences included Bugs Bunny, Alice Cooper, Charles Dickens, Spider Man, and Mr. Spock, not necessarily in that order.

Then of course, there were all those quests in theatre, religious studies, and grad school, where she learned that Canada is the penultimate nation of passive aggressives. K.A. was pleased to discover, finally, that she fit right in. She also heard this somewhere: Ekam Sat Vipra Bahuta Vandanti. That is, The Truth is One; Knowers Call It by Different Names.  That sounded pretty good, too.

Now that she's all grown up, her gurus are folks like Angela Carter, Steven Brust, Kinky Friedman, Tori Amos, Alexandre Dumas, the Dalai Lama, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., Bugs Bunny, and Mr. Spock.  Again, not necessarily in that order.

These days, in lieu of a twelve-step program, K.A. practices art, meditation, and medicinal decadence.  She is hard at work marketing two novels, and madly researching a third.  She's also one of the editors of  Bygone Days, an e-magazine of historical fiction. http://www.coachlightpress.com/bygone/index.shtml

The Hindu Goddess Kali-Ma is her many-armed Matron Muse, so watch out.
